Drew Jakubek - President

Drew Jakubek is Vice President, Business Development for the Southwest Region of the Great American Group, the leading provider of asset disposition as well as valuation and appraisal services.  Previously Mr. Jakubek was Vice President and Business Development with National City Business Credit where he focused on asset based loans in the $10 million to $100 million range.  Mr. Jakubek has held roles as a banker, chief financial officer, investment banker and turnaround consultant.  Mr. Jakubek currently serves as President for the Southwest Chapter of the Commercial Finance Association.  Mr. Jakubek was graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received his MBA and from Susquehanna University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics.


Stuart Walker - Vice President

Stuart is a Director in the Restructuring and Turnaround practice at Huron Consulting Group in Dallas, TX.  He has over 20 years of experience in a wide range of financial advisory roles, including turnaround and crisis manager, merger and acquisition advisor, and interim chief financial officer (CFO). He has served as principal financial officer of several small- to mid-sized companies, including publicly held companies, with an emphasis on services, distribution, telecommunications, and technology businesses.

Joseph Acosta - Education

Joseph is a Member in the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group at Looper Reed & McGraw, P.C., a Texas-based, full-service law firm with approximately 100 attorneys practicing throughout the State.  Joseph has been involved as debtor’s counsel in some of the largest corporate restructurings in the United States and also has served as counsel to committees, trustees, lenders and investors in bankruptcy settings.  Joseph is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification and actively speaks and writes on bankruptcy-related topics.  He received his Bachelors Degree from Emory University and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.

Steve Bellah - Membership - Private Equity Groups

Steven R. Bellah is a Director of Silver Spring Securities focused on money raise activities and fund formation.  He is also still involved in many areas and processes throughout the New Stream Capital portfolio. Before joining New Stream Capital, Steve was a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Retail Finance and Division Manager at Wells Fargo Business Credit. Mr. Bellah also held positions including Managing Director and Region Manager for GE Capital/Commercial Finance where he directed new business development and credit/operations for GE Capital’s southern region. Prior to GE Capital, Mr. Bellah was Vice President and Region Manager for The CIT Group/Business Credit in Dallas, Texas. Steve achieved his Bachelors of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Frank Bonet - Membership - Service Providers

Frank Bonet is a Vice President and Business Development Officer for PNC Business Credit.  Mr. Bonet has over 19 years of diversified experience in banking and commercial lending.   Prior to PNC Business Credit, Mr. Bonet held business development positions with Briar Capital L.P., First Community Financial, Spectrum Commercial Services, Bank of America and Deutsche Bank.  Mr. Bonet earned a Bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  Mr. Bonet is a member of the Association For Corporate Growth, Turnaround Management Association, Commercial Finance Association and serves on the board of The Finance Forum.

Derek Dunn - Communications Co-Chair

Derek Dunn is a Vice President of Business Development for Frost Capital Group, a division of Frost Bank, which provides working capital loans and factoring to companies seeking innovative financing not generally available through traditional sources.  Prior to joining Frost Capital three years ago, Derek was a financial planner in Denver and Dallas.  In addition to The Commercial Finance Association, Derek is a board member of The Finance Forum, and involved in the Turnaround Management Association..  Derek earned a bachelors degree from Oklahoma State University.

Adam Evans - Education Co-Chair

 

Adam joined Hilco in 2002 as a Machinery and Equipment appraiser; currently he sources opportunities for Hilco platform businesses including the Appraisal and Asset disposition verticals in the Western and Southwest United States. He has been in the auction, liquidation and appraisal industry since 1999. Adam is a certified M&E appraiser and holds membership in numerous professional organizations, including AMEA (Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers) and the Equipment Appraisers of North America, the Turnaround Management Association, Association for Corporate Growth, the California Bankruptcy Forum, and the Commercial Finance Association. Adam has served as a consultant to financial institutions on asset-based lending and recovery.

Kim Grant - Membership - Financial Institutions

Kim Grant joined Gulf Coast Business Credit, headquartered in New Orleans, in 2009 to open up their Dallas office. She currently serves as Vice President and focuses on business development in Texas and Oklahoma.  Prior to joining Gulf Coast, Ms. Grant was Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Allied Capital Partners, where she began her career in finance in 1999. In 2001, Ms. Grant started The Finance Forum, a financial networking group focused on funding small and medium sized businesses, and remained on the Board of Directors for 5 years. Ms. Grant is currently an active member of The Women’s Finance Exchange, Turnaround Management Association, and The Finance Forum. She is personally very actively involved in the Junior League of Plano as the Chair of Lone Star Links, a major fundraising golf event that supports 13 of Collin County’s community projects.  Ms. Grant earned her BS in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University.

Elizabeth Hastings - Regional Membership and Program Co-Chair

Elizabeth Hastings is currently at FGI Finance as a Senior Vice President for Business Development. Elizabeth brings over fifteen years of dedicated financial services experience to her new position with FGI Finance. Prior to joining FGI, Ms. Hastings served as South West Regional Vice President for Presidential Financial, a national asset based lending firm headquarted in Atlanta, Georgia. Before working for Presidential Ms. Hastings had previously been the Regional Director of Business Development for Medical Capital, a firm specializing in healthcare finance. Ms. Hastings has also been an officer with Bank One as wells as serving as an Investment and Financial Consultant with Prudential Securities.

Prashant Nisar - Education Co-Chair

Prashant Nisar is a manager with the National Professional Standards Group in the Grant Thornton Dallas office and has more than ten years of public accounting experience. He specializes in SEC financial reporting, provide advice on complex accounting matters, and help companies during the IPO process and Sarbanes-Oxley attestation. He has experience with and knowledge of convergence to IFRS/US GAAP, specifically relating to the preparation of financial statements or the audit of those financial statements. He also has significant experience with audits of financial institutions and financial services, oil and gas and technology industries. Prashant obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters degree in Accounting from University of Mumbai, India. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Accountant from India. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and actively involved with Dallas Society of CPA and Young Professionals with Dallas Regional Chamber.


Paul Patrick - Nominating Committee Chair

Paul Patrick is currently a senior vice president for Capital One Leverage Finance Corporation in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that he was also a senior vice president for General Electric Commercial Finance, Guaranty Business Credit and Finova. He has over thirty-four years of financial experience in mergers and acquisitions, leverage buyouts, DIP financings and loan restructurings. Mr. Patrick also serves on the Board of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Turnaround Management Association and the Dallas International Bankers Association.  Mr. Patrick graduated from Fredonia State College with a BS in Business Administration,  and has an MBA in Finance from Long Island University. 

Adam Prescott - Undergraduate Liason

Adam Prescott serves as Vice President for JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking. Mr. Prescott focuses on north Texas based middle-market companies ranging from $10MM to $500MM in revenue, providing services for companies in need of lending, cash management, derivatives, international trade, and more. Previously, Mr. Prescott spent five years at GE Capital originating large Corporate Lending opportunities including cash flow lending, asset-based lending, structured leasing, project finance, M&A, and turnaround financing. Prescott earned his B.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University and his MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Sharmila Solanki - Membership - Junior Capital

Sharmila Solanki serves as Managing Director for CIT Healthcare.  Her financial services experience of 20 years includes roles in asset-based lending, healthcare finance as well as commercial lending.  Ms. Solanki is currently responsible for originating senior debt opportunities among healthcare service providers throughout the southern, Midwestern and western portions of the U.S.  Ms. Solanki products include asset-based and cash flow structures for working capital requirements, mergers and acquisitions as well as recapitalizations.  Prior to CIT Healthcare, her prior affiliations have included GE Capital, HSBC and JPMorgan Chase.  Ms. Solanki currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association.  Ms. Solanki, was graduated from Southern Methodist University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate.


H. John Tyler - Sponsorship Co Chair

John Tyler joined PNC Business Credit in 2000 as a Business Development Officer and currently serves as Regional Sales Manager for the Southwest division.  He is responsible for developing new loan opportunities across a 10 state area generated by a staff of business development officers in three locations.   Prior to joining PNC, Mr. Tyler held sales positions with National Bank of Canada’s U.S. asset-based lending division and Whitney National Bank, where he began his career in the Corporate Banking division.  Mr. Tyler is an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Turnaround Management Association, the Commercial Finance Association and he has served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans.  Mr. Tyler received his B.S. in Finance from the University of New Orleans.


Chris Welsh - Golf Outing Chair

Chris Welsh joined ARG Recovery in 2009 and is the Director of Restructuring.  Mr. Welsh’s responsibilities include strategic turnaround management, marketing, and alternative debt/equity sourcing.  ARG also provides evaluation, distressed business funding, and liquidations services.  Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Welsh operated DBR Consultancy, which provided recovery and examination services.  Mr. Welsh is a twenty year veteran of commercial and asset based lending.   He worked for Bank One in Columbus, and Texas, The CIT Group, Sterling Bank, PCB, and Regions Financial.  Chris is also an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, and the Commercial Finance Association.  Mr. Welsh received his BS in Finance from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. 


Aaron Walton - Communications Co-Chair

Aaron Walton is the Central Region Manager for AccuVal Associates and is responsible for Business Development throughout the Central United States.  Aaron has over 10 years experience working with Corporations, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Attorneys, Corporate Finance, and Turnaround Professionals to solve complex valuation and asset management issues.  Prior to joining AccuVal, Aaron served as a District Manager for American Appraisal Associates in Dallas and Regional Manager for RCI Appraisal.  Aaron is an active member in the Association of Corporate Growth, the Turnaround Management Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
